Evaluation criteria used at Gold Standard Gecko Club shows.
10-point judging system
All entries judged on a 10-point system. Minimum 3 judges, maximum 5 per competition. Judges must have 10+ years of experience breeding crested geckos.

Evaluation Criteria
Triangular, kite-shaped head when viewed from above. Must be wide and symmetrical. Correct (medium) snout length required; long snout and short snout are faults. Perfect bite required; underbite and overbite are disqualifications. No nose hump; correct profile has a smooth, even slope. Healthy, proportional nostril size.
Disqualifications
Faults

Correct, proportional eye size. Eyes should not protrude beyond the head silhouette when viewed from the front. Perfect eyelashes (ciliated crests above the eyes) should be prominent and well-formed. Bulging eyes that extend past the head outline are a disqualification fault.
Disqualifications
Faults

Crest spikes should be prominent, robust, and create a "furry" look. Spikes must extend from between the eyes to the widest point of the head. Short and slim crest spikes are a fault. "Ear" shaped crests that flare outward are a fault. Perfect dorsal length and width along the spine with consistent width. A thin dorsal that tapers to the neck or a dorsal that is too wide are faults. No pinched neck.
Faults
Robust, healthy, well-filled, proportional body. Thick, muscular, and symmetrical legs. Perfect feet with no missing toes. No hip dip and no pelvic deformities. The hip line should be smooth and continuous from body to tail base. Severe pelvic deformity is a disqualification.
Disqualifications
Faults
Long, thick, and muscular tail. Rounded tail tip with no nips. No floppy tail; floppy tail indicates pelvic deformity and is a disqualification. A disproportionately short tail is a fault. Correct tail length should be proportional to body length.
